on starcraft2.ingame.de previously broodwar.de you can find alot them.if you open a thread you can find easily their smilies list on the bottom of the site.btw,my personal favourites are:

- tätschel
- doh!
- fuck you
- lol2
- motz!!
- stupid
- stupid3
- uglyhammer

if you can adopt them it would be cool.oh,yeah smiley for :P

Why not? Some custom BW- or map-related smilies will be implemented if anyone wants to draw them, toosmiley for ;)

thx for the new smilies.they aren't just funny,they also can help to avoid using too much cyber space cause instead of some useless comment you can post only an smily.i think they can also help sometimes to avoid tensions between the users.as example:

it is nicer to reply - smiley for :fu: XY

instead of - fuck you XY

btw,the smilies in the (long)list don't work currently right?

A smiliey is an image file of roughly 1KB. Each character in a word takes up 1 byte or 2 bytes if we're talking UNICODE. So 500-1000 characters in comparision to one smiley. Not to mention all the overheads and database accesses and whatever.

They don't help avoid using too much cyber space. And they waste lots of bandwidth.

I usually am using lots of smileys, btw.

It is less stress on the database, but more on the connection, both server- and client-side. Smilies are mostly really small files and should get cached at your computer, so it's not an issue.
